Safety Coordinator

StudentsThe University of Georgia recognizes the importance of providing threat assessments, information, training, and resources to promote the safety of all students, faculty, staff, visitors, and security of campus facilities. Safety starts with leadership. Members of our safety team must lead by example and emphasize the importance of safety to make it a successful initiative. Having an active Building Safety and Security Representative (BSSR) or Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Coordinator helps to ensure that there are people in every campus building who know what actions to take during an emergency and who can assist those around them.

As a BSSR or AED Coordinator volunteer, you are in control of your own emergency preparedness and empowered to help those around you on campus. You will receive training, the tools needed to implement your training, and opportunities for recognition in making our campus a safer place. If you are interested in becoming a Building Safety and Security Representative (BSSR) or Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Coordinator, please contact the Office of Emergency Preparedness at [email protected] or 706.542.5845.
